The Cube Orange+ Flight Controller

Cubepilot The Cube Orange+ autopilot serves educators, drone enthusiasts and professionals seeking cost-effective flight controller hardware. Furthermore, it uses a new-generation powerful H7 processor. It brings stronger performance, faster response and higher safety.

Besides, it comes with built-in triple redundant sensors and a temperature-controlled, shock-absorbing IMU. In addition, paired with supporting flight software, Cube Orange Plus (IMU V8) fits a wide range of unmanned systems.

These systems cover multirotor drones, fixed-wing planes, helicopters and VTOL aircraft. What’s more, it also works for boats, ground rovers and submarines. Lastly, it acts as an upgraded successor to Cube Black (Pixhawk 2.1).

The Hex Cube Orange+ (IMU V8) Features

1. Faster H757 SOC with 1 MB RAM.
2. Upgrade the triple redundant IMU sensor to add additional redundancy.
3. The two groups of IMUS are mechanically isolated to reduce the influence of frame vibration on state estimation.
4. IMUs are temperature-controlled by onboard heating resistors, allowing the optimum working temperature of IMUs.
5. The entire flight management unit (FMU) and inertial management unit (IMU) are housed in a relatively small form factor (The cube).
6. Fully CubePilot Carrier Board compatible with all inputs and outputs via an 80 pin DF17 connector, allowing for plug-in solutions from commercial system manufacturers.
7. Manufacturers can design their own Carrier Board to meet specific needs now and in the future.

The Cube Orange Pixhawk (IMU V8) I/O ports

• 14 PWM servo outputs (8 from IO, 6 from FMU).
• R/C inputs for CPPM, Spektrum / DSM and S.Bus.
• Analogue / PWM RSSI input.
• S. Bus servo output.
• 5 general purpose serial ports, 2 with full flow control.
• Two I2C ports.
• One SPI port (un-buffered, for short cables only not recommended for use).
• Two CAN Bus interface. (CAN FD for BlueH7 and Orange with CubePilot Logo)

System Architecture

The Cube continues with the FMU + IO architecture from the previous generation, incorporating the two functional blocks in a single physical module.
